Until September 30, users of public transportation in Tuscany who tap with a Visa card on buses and trams, will receive a free ride. Additionally, there is a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LIX, the final of the National Football League.
This opportunity is exclusively for Visa card users, and the card can be either debit or credit. It applies to both Italians, foreign residents and tourists who use the tap-and-go system to purchase their travel tickets. This initiative is a result of a collaboration between Autolinee Toscane and Visa. They have installed contactless payment systems on board, allowing passengers to buy a ticket using just a payment card – without the need to get a paper ticket. In fact, as Andrea Buonomini, Director of Commercial, Marketing, and Technology says, Tuscany is the first and only region in Italy where this kind of payment is possible. Free rides are meant as a reward for public transportation users in Tuscany, as over 3.5 millions taps have been made in the first five months since the service’s launch.
There is also a chance to win a trip for two to New Orleans to attend Super Bowl LIX. However, certain conditions must be met to participate. First of all, only Italian permanent residents are allowed to take a part in the lottery. Additionally, the applicant must be at least 21 years old or turn 21 by February 6, 2025, which is the exact date of the Super Bowl LIX. It is necessary to fill out a survey, which includes not only personal information but also a question about the Tuscan region: ‘If a tap was all it took to travel anywhere in Tuscany, and with anyone you wanted, where would you go and with whom? Tell us about your dream trip’. The registration for the lottery, along with the free tickets, ends on September 30. (Paulina Juzak)
